According to a recent national liaison survey and report from SchoolHouse Connection, lack of shelter remains one of the biggest unmet needs for students and families experiencing homelessness. Learn how Kansas City Public Schools is partnering with a community agency, reStart, to provide emergency shelter and wrap-around supports to students experiencing homelessness. Now entering its third year, the partnership is supported by ARP-HCY funds and will be sustained through community philanthropic support. Presenters will describe key features of the partnership, positive results to date, and provide practical suggestions for how this model might be adapted and replicated in other communities.
