Elliot Williams is the Senior Program Manager for State Policy at SchoolHouse Connection. He has spent more than 20 years facilitating change in nonprofit, governmental, and educational settings in locations as varied as Wisconsin, Bolivia, Illinois, Colorado, and Mexico. His experience includes creating and implementing advocacy campaigns, administering community development projects, and advancing economic and educational achievement for diverse populations.
Most recently, in Colorado, he moved dozens of policies through city, state, and national legislative, regulatory, and ballot campaigns. Successful efforts include ensuring lead-free water in schools and child care centers, eliminating racially biased school discipline practices for the state’s youngest students, increasing the state earned income and child tax credit rates, combating wage theft, and ending predatory payday loans.
His professional experience is complemented by a Master of Arts degree with a focus on international development advocacy.
