Reducing Chronic Absenteeism With ARP-HCY Funds
Replay the Webinar:
More than half (52%) of students experiencing homelessness were chronically absent during the 2021-2022 school year. Students experiencing homelessness face unique barriers to school attendance, including frequent moves that make transportation difficult, lack of basic needs like clothes and hygiene products, and more. American Rescue Plan-Homeless Children and Youth (ARP-HCY) funds offer an opportunity to reduce chronic absenteeism by providing better transportation options, more staff capacity, and other supports that impact attendance. During this webinar, participants will hear how Rochester City School District (NY) has effectively utilized ARP-HCY funds to reduce chronic absenteeism and improve outcomes for homeless students.
