No single system – whether education, homeless response, housing, workforce development, or public benefits – is able to meet all the needs of children, youth, and families experiencing homelessness. Identifying and staying in communication with school and community partners is foundational to building effective collaboration that benefits all children, youth, and families they serve.

Purpose of this tool: School and district staff members (e.g. school district homeless liaisons, school social workers, etc.) and community-based organizations (CBOs) may not know where to start to identify partners who are equipped to meet the needs of children, youth, and families experiencing homelessness. This partner inventory tool aims to provide partner networks with a template for locating, gathering, maintaining, and sharing information on partners in an organized manner.

How to use this tool:

Step 1: Search for potential partners in key partner systems below, which include links to contact and summary information.

Step 2: Download the editable spreadsheet and use the tabs at the bottom of the spreadsheet organized by partner system (early childhood, K12 education, higher education, housing and homeless response, etc.). Partner networks can customize Addl System 1 and Addl System 2 tabs to add more partner systems if needed.

Step 3: Add partner information into the relevant tab at the bottom of the spreadsheet and share the spreadsheet during meetings to encourage regular updating. It may be useful to use a document-sharing serving like Google Drive or Dropbox to facilitate a ‘crowd-sourcing’ approach to keeping contact information up-to-date.
